The Manipur Police Department has appointed Dr. Rashini Yengkhom, MPS, Superintendent of Police, CID, Crime Branch, as the Nodal Officer responsible for overseeing the monitoring and updating of acid attack cases in the Management Information System (MIS) Portal of the National Commission for Women (NCW).
Role and Responsibilities:

Data Management & Case Monitoring:
- Dr. Yengkhom will be responsible for ensuring that all acid attack cases registered in Manipur are systematically updated in the MIS portal of the NCW.
- This portal serves as a central database to track investigation progress, legal proceedings, and victim rehabilitation efforts.
- She will act as the liaison officer between the Manipur Police Department, NCW, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth information flow and case tracking.
- This includes collaborating with district police units and public prosecutors to strengthen the legal response to acid attack
- As the Nodal Officer, she will ensure that survivors receive timely medical treatment, legal assistance, and financial compensation as per government provisions.
- She will also coordinate with women’s rights organizations and NGOs to offer psychological and rehabilitative support to survivors.
