A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Chandigarh sentenced Inspector General of Police Zahur Haider Zaidi and seven other officers to life imprisonment for their involvement in the custodial death of an accused in the 2017 Kotkhai rape and murder case. The officers were found guilty of murder, criminal conspiracy, wrongful confinement, and fabricating evidence.
