The Karnataka government is poised to introduce a new cess on vehicle registrations starting February. According to recent reports, two-wheelers will incur a ₹500 cess, while cars will be subject to a ₹1,000 charge at the time of registration.
This move follows the recent passage of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the state assembly.
