In a robust campaign against cybercrime, Jharkhand Police achieved remarkable success in 2024 by registering 1,295 cases and arresting 971 individuals involved in digital offenses. This extensive operation underscores the state’s commitment to tackling the growing menace of cybercrimes, which have become increasingly sophisticated in recent years.

During the crackdown, authorities seized a staggering amount of evidence, including 2,118 mobile phones, 2,905 SIM cards, 606 ATM cards, 165 bank passbooks, and 52 laptops. These items were reportedly used in fraudulent activities such as phishing scams, identity theft, and financial frauds targeting unsuspecting citizens.

The state police have been proactive in addressing the rise in digital crimes, leveraging advanced technologies and building specialized cybercrime units to counter the threat. Awareness campaigns have also been launched to educate citizens on identifying and reporting cybercrimes.

Senior officials emphasized that these efforts aim not only to bring perpetrators to justice but also to disrupt the infrastructure supporting such activities. Investigations are ongoing to trace larger networks and prevent similar crimes in the future.
