In Kochi, the Kerala Police Association’s Ernakulam rural district meet recently proposed a resolution advocating for two days of menstrual leave for women police officers. The resolution highlights the physical demands of police work and argues that such leave would address menstrual discomfort during duty. Additionally, the association called for a special allowance of Rs 250 for mobile phone usage, citing the importance of digital evidence under new criminal laws.
Kerala PoliceThe resolution, presented at a meeting in Muvattupuzha, has been forwarded to the state government, superior officers, and the KPA state committee for consideration. Other demands included the provision of fingerprint analysis equipment and the establishment of day care centers at district and sub-division headquarters to support officers working on public holidays.
