In June, Visakhapatnam police successfully resolved 80 out of 99 reported property offences, marking a significant achievement. Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi announced that 57 suspects were apprehended, including 12 juveniles, in connection with these crimes. Recoveries totaled ₹37.12 lakh from stolen property valued at ₹78.60 lakh.
The operations involved specialized teams utilizing advanced techniques for arrests, highlighting a case of robbery, house break-ins both by day and night, auto and car thefts, ordinary thefts, snatching incidents, motorcycle thefts, wire thefts, and pickpocketing. Bagchi addressed these accomplishments during a media briefing, underscoring the city police’s commitment to tackling crime effectively.
