The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Sunday that they have made significant progress in resolving a temple vandalism case in Jammu, apprehending the suspect, Arjun Sharma. According to police reports, Sharma confessed to attempting to set fire to the temple located in Nagrota and desecrating its sanctum sanctorum.
His actions, allegedly driven by suspicions of ‘black magic’ practices at the temple, have sparked concerns over communal harmony in the region, marking the second such incident of temple desecration recently. Authorities have clarified that the incident appears to stem from a personal vendetta rather than any political motive. The incident has stirred local protests amid fears of a conspiracy to disrupt peace in the Union Territory.
