Former Maharashtra DGP Sanjeev Dayal and former CBI chief Subodh Kumar Jaiswal have lauded India’s recent enactment of three new criminal laws, heralding a departure from colonial-era statutes. Dayal praised the laws for their heightened focus on crimes against women, including rape, molestation, and child trafficking. He emphasized the use of forensic technologies to bolster conviction rates and limit court adjournments, thereby expediting justice delivery.
Jaiswal echoed these sentiments, describing the legislative changes as a significant shift towards a victim-centric justice system. He highlighted their potential to ensure prompt and fair adjudication, particularly in cases of cyber-enabled crimes. The new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita also integrates digital evidence scrutiny and strengthens national security measures, underscoring its commitment to swift justice for women, children, and all victims
