A tragic discovery unfolded in Bengaluru as the body of missing police constable Shivaraj Balappa, 30, was found inside a well in the city’s western area under Jnanabharati police station on Monday. Shivaraj, attached to Madiwala police station, had been missing for nearly a week before his elder brother, Krishnappa Balappa, reported his disappearance to Subramanyapura police station on June 26.
Krishnappa’s complaint revealed tensions within Shivaraj’s family, citing threats allegedly made by his wife prior to his disappearance. Two months earlier, a domestic dispute had led to a legal case filed against Shivaraj and his parents under IPC Section 498A at Davanagere women’s police station. On June 25, Shivaraj left home on his motorcycle, claiming he was going to work. When attempts to contact him failed later that day, prompting concerns and subsequent police involvement the next day.
