Hyderabad: Crime Drops by 4.9% in Telangana in Second Half of 2024, Says CID Chief

Crime in Telangana witnessed a 4.9% decline in the second half of 2024 when compared to the first half of the year, revealed Shikha Goel, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She shared the update during the Half-Yearly Crime Review Meeting held on Monday, April 7.

According to Goel, most major crimes recorded a noticeable drop, indicating positive outcomes of law enforcement efforts across the state. However, she pointed out that burglaries continue to be a concern, suggesting the need for focused attention in this area.

The review meeting highlighted ongoing initiatives to strengthen policing and improve public safety, with officials aiming to build on this progress in the coming months.
