Nagpur Riots: 14 More Arrested, Total Now 105; Three New FIRs Registered

Nagpur: Authorities have arrested 14 more individuals in connection with the recent communal violence in Nagpur, bringing the total number of arrests to 105. The city witnessed violent clashes, including incidents of stone-pelting and arson, following protests demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

Fresh FIRs Lodged Amid Ongoing Investigations

The police have also registered three new First Information Reports (FIRs) against unidentified individuals for their involvement in the riots. The FIRs include charges of rioting, unlawful assembly, destruction of property, and endangering public safety. Authorities are continuing their crackdown on those responsible for inciting violence and disturbing communal harmony.

Security Tightened, Curfew Lifted in Some Areas

In response to the unrest, law enforcement agencies have intensified security measures in the affected areas. While a curfew was initially imposed in multiple police station jurisdictions, restrictions have now been eased in certain localities. However, the police remain on high alert to prevent further escalation.
