A former Army man in Hyderabad has confessed to the gruesome murder of his wife. The accused, Gurumurthy, killed his 35-year-old wife, Venkat Madhavi, on January 16th following a heated argument.
To dispose of the evidence, Gurumurthy dismembered Madhavi’s body. He reportedly boiled some of the body parts in a pressure cooker before disposing of them in a lake and nearby trash bins.
Madhavi’s parents filed a missing person report on January 18th at the Meerpet Police Station after she went missing from their Jillelaguda home on January 15th. Gurumurthy initially accompanied her parents to the police station, feigning ignorance about her whereabouts.
However, CCTV footage from their residence revealed that Madhavi had not left the house after January 15th, raising serious suspicions. Under intense police questioning, Gurumurthy eventually broke down and confessed to the horrific crime.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and highlights the urgent need to address domestic violence and ensure the safety of women.
