Haryana Police achieved a remarkable milestone in combating cybercrime in 2024, making 5,156 arrests and recovering a staggering ₹268 crore. This marks a significant improvement from 2023, which saw 1,900 arrests and ₹76 crore recovered. The increase in arrests and recoveries reflects the state’s intensified focus on tackling the growing threat of cybercrime. Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of the police and financial institutions. Nodal officers from 10 major banks have been working around the clock with the police to track and prevent cyber fraud.
The police have adopted advanced technology and data analytics to enhance their ability to identify and apprehend cybercriminals. Public awareness campaigns have also played a crucial role in educating citizens about staying vigilant against online fraud. These efforts demonstrate Haryana Police’s commitment to ensuring digital safety for its residents.
