In a major operation aimed at curbing the menace of narcotics distribution, Kerala Police launched a statewide crackdown on drug trafficking, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of contraband. The operation, conducted over several days, targeted known hotspots and networks involved in the illegal drug trade.

According to a senior police official, the coordinated effort involved multiple law enforcement units, including the Narcotics Cell, local police stations, and intelligence agencies. The operation yielded not only the arrests of key individuals but also the confiscation of various narcotic substances, including heroin, cannabis, and synthetic drugs, with an estimated street value running into crores of rupees.

“This is a decisive step towards making Kerala a drug-free state. The arrested individuals include both local peddlers and members of larger trafficking syndicates,” said the official. The police also uncovered key supply routes and distribution networks, which they believe will help dismantle the trafficking infrastructure.
