Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the rising concerns of cybercrime and the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies during his address at the DGP/IGP conference on January 3. Modi pointed out that criminals are increasingly exploiting AI-driven tools for nefarious activities like data theft, identity fraud, and cyber-attacks. “As technology advances, so do the methods of criminals,” he stated, urging law enforcement agencies to strengthen their cybersecurity infrastructure.
The Prime Minister also announced the formation of a specialized cybercrime division to tackle such issues effectively. “We must stay ahead of these challenges,” Modi emphasized, calling for enhanced coordination between states and the Centre to combat cyber threats.
