In a significant step to enhance the safety and security of women in Jharkhand, the state police has established a Special Cell aimed at addressing and resolving issues related to women’s safety more effectively. This initiative, spearheaded by Additional Director General (ADG) Suman, will focus on tackling various challenges that women face, including harassment, domestic violence, and other forms of gender-based violence.

The Special Cell has been set up with the goal of providing a more responsive and efficient mechanism to handle complaints and investigations pertaining to crimes against women. The cell will be staffed with trained officers who will specialize in handling sensitive cases involving female victims, ensuring that the cases are treated with the seriousness and respect they deserve.

ADG Suman, who is overseeing the operation of the cell, stated that the primary objective is to create a safe environment for women by empowering them with the resources and support they need. The cell will also work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and women’s groups to raise awareness and provide legal aid and counseling services to victims of violence.

Furthermore, the Special Cell will be responsible for monitoring the progress of cases related to women’s safety and providing updates to concerned authorities. It will also focus on implementing preventive measures, including community outreach programs and awareness campaigns, to educate women about their rights and ways to protect themselves.

This initiative comes at a time when the state is witnessing a rising concern over crimes against women, and the Jharkhand Police aims to create a more victim-friendly system that ensures swift action and justice. The establishment of the Special Cell is a positive step in ensuring that women in Jharkhand feel safer and supported in their communities.
