The New Year celebrations in Bengaluru and across Karnataka rang in peacefully, with no major incidents reported. Karnataka’s Home Minister G. Parameshwara lauded the swift and efficient actions of the state police in maintaining law and order during the festive period. The peaceful celebrations were attributed to thorough planning, preparation, and coordination between the police force, local authorities, and the public.
Bengaluru, known for its vibrant New Year festivities, witnessed a massive turnout across various parts of the city. However, the police were well-prepared for the occasion, ensuring that safety protocols were in place to avoid any unfortunate events. A total of 11,830 police personnel were deployed throughout the city to manage crowds, oversee traffic, and maintain security at key celebration points, including public spaces, hotels, and popular nightlife areas.
Minister Parameshwara expressed his gratitude to both the police officers and the citizens of Bengaluru for their cooperation and vigilance. He acknowledged the role of technology, including surveillance cameras and mobile-based reporting systems, in enhancing the efficiency of policing during large-scale events like the New Year celebrations.
