Bengaluru authorities have taken extensive measures to ensure safety and order across the city. Over 11,000 police personnel have been deployed at key locations, including popular party hubs, public spaces, and roads leading to high-traffic areas. The city administration has also set a 1 AM curfew to regulate the festivities and prevent untoward incidents.
The police department is focusing on crowd management and security at hotspots such as MG Road, Brigade Road, Koramangala, and Indiranagar, which typically see high footfall during celebrations. Additional measures include the installation of CCTV cameras, breath analyzer tests to curb drunk driving, and dedicated women’s safety teams patrolling crowded areas. Checkpoints have also been established at entry and exit points to monitor vehicle movements and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
City Police Commissioner B Dayananda emphasized the importance of responsible celebrations. “While we encourage people to celebrate, we also urge them to follow safety protocols and respect the curfew timings,” he stated. The public has been advised to cooperate with the authorities to make the celebrations safe and enjoyable for everyone.
The proactive steps by Bengaluru Police reflect a strong commitment to maintaining law and order while allowing citizens to welcome the New Year with enthusiasm. Such measures are expected to enhance public confidence and ensure a memorable yet secure celebration for all.
