Gujarat, a man was arrested for allegedly offering a bribe of ₹35,000 to a labour court judge. The accused, identified as Rajesh Patel, allegedly attempted to influence the judge’s decision in a labour-related case pending before the court.

The incident came to light when the labour court judge lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) after receiving the bribe offer. The ACB swiftly launched an investigation and laid a trap to catch Patel red-handed.

On the day of the incident, the ACB team set up a decoy operation. Patel was arrested while trying to hand over the bribe money to the judge inside the court premises. The anti-corruption authorities seized the cash and initiated legal proceedings against the accused.

Officials say that this case highlights the growing menace of corruption in the judicial system and the need for strict action against such practices to uphold the integrity of the courts.

The arrested accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Authorities are also investigating the source of the money used for the bribe and any potential links to other ongoing legal matters.

The incident has sparked concern over the transparency and accountability of the judiciary in Gujarat, with calls for enhanced vigilance to curb such corrupt practices.
