Former Andhra Pradesh minister and senior YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, has been served a police notice following allegations of making inappropriate remarks against law enforcement officers. The notice stems from an incident during his visit to the Kavali Government Hospital in Nellore district, where he was attending to injured YSRCP workers after a clash between YSRCP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters in Kolladinne village, Bogole Mandal.
During this visit, Kakani allegedly criticized the police for their handling of the situation and reportedly issued threats, stating that upon YSRCP’s return to power, action would be taken against certain officers, including the removal of their uniforms. These remarks led Vantaru Prasanna, a TDP leader from Kolladinne, to file a complaint at the Kavali One Town Police Station. Consequently, a case was registered against Kakani under various sections of the Indian Penal Code
