Mangaluru, Karnataka – In a landmark crackdown on drug trafficking, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police have successfully dismantled a major narcotics network, marking the largest drug bust in Karnataka’s history. The operation, conducted over the past few days, resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal substances and the arrest of multiple individuals involved in the drug trade.
The Operation
Acting on intelligence inputs, a special team of the CCB launched a series of coordinated raids at multiple locations in and around Mangaluru. The police uncovered a vast drug supply chain operating across the state, with links to international smuggling networks. Authorities confiscated large quantities of contraband, including synthetic drugs, heroin, and cannabis, along with cash, weapons, and electronic devices used in the operation.
Key Arrests and Seizures
According to police sources, several high-profile drug peddlers and intermediaries were taken into custody. The suspects are believed to have played a crucial role in the distribution of drugs across Karnataka, including Bengaluru and other major cities. Initial investigations suggest that the network had connections to drug cartels operating outside India.
The police have seized:
-
Over 100 kilograms of banned substances, including MDMA, cocaine, and hashish.
-
Rs 5 crore in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.
-
Several luxury vehicles used for transportation and delivery.
