Online social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, or ‘Orry’ and seven others allegedly consumed alcohol at a hotel in Katra, close to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, according to police. An FIR has been registered against them.
The nine have been booked for “violating the law of the land” and “hurting the sentiments of people”, according to Jammu and Kashmir Police. The officials have also set up a team to capture them.
The case was registered on a March 15 complaint received at the Katra Police Station that a few guests at the hotel allegedly consumed alcohol on the property. Alcohol and “non-vegetarian” food are not allowed inside the hotel premises due to its proximity to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, according to law enforcement.
