SRINAGAR: Thieves stole water taps from the ladies’ ablution section of Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid, surprising devotees.
Eyewitnesses said the theft was discovered when worshippers noticed water flowing continuously in the mosque’s washroom.An official said that devotees arriving for prayers were alerted by the sound of running water, only to find that all the taps were missing.
It is suspected that drug addicts may be behind the theft. The incident has raised concerns over security at religious sites, with locals urging authorities to take action.
