Bengaluru Railway Police have arrested a couple and their friend in connection with the suspicious death of a 24-year-old man, whose body was discovered near the railway tracks in the city. The deceased, identified as Rajesh Kumar, was a software engineer originally from Tumakuru, working in an IT company in Bengaluru.

Discovery of the Body

On March 13, 2025, railway workers found Rajesh’s body along the Bengaluru-Yeshwanthpur railway line. Initial reports suggested that he might have fallen from a moving train, but upon closer inspection, police found injuries inconsistent with a train accident. This led them to investigate the possibility of foul play.

Investigation and Arrests

After reviewing CCTV footage and analyzing Rajesh’s call records, the police identified three suspects:

  • Deepak Sharma (28) – a businessman and the primary suspect

  • Priya Sharma (26) – Deepak’s wife

  • Sandeep Reddy (27) – a close friend of the couple

The police arrested them on March 14, 2025, following extensive questioning.

Motive Behind the Murder

Investigators discovered that Rajesh had been in a relationship with Priya Sharma before her marriage to Deepak. After her marriage, Rajesh allegedly continued contacting Priya, leading to conflicts between the couple. Deepak, feeling humiliated and enraged over the situation, allegedly planned to eliminate Rajesh with the help of his friend Sandeep.
