On March 12, 2025, ASI Rajiv Ranjan, attached to the Fulkaha police station in Araria district, led a team to Laxmipur village to apprehend Anmol Yadav, a known criminal attending a wedding ceremony. Upon arresting Yadav, the police faced resistance from villagers who intervened to free him. During the ensuing scuffle, ASI Ranjan collapsed and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities have detained several individuals in connection with this incident, and investigations are ongoing.
