Budgam March 07 (KNS): In a significant public outreach initiative V K Birdi, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, along with Rajiv Omprakash Pandey, IPS, Deputy Inspector General (DIGP) Central Kashmir Range (CKR), and Nikhil Borkar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, today visited the remote village of Surasyar – Brenwar. The visit was part of the ongoing โ€œThana Divasโ€ program organized by Police Station Chadoora, Budgam.

Village Surasyar-Brenwar, located in a remote area of Chadoora. The area is mainly inhabitated by Gujjar, Bakarwal and Chopan communities. Locals participated in huge numbers in Thana Divas program. This is the first time that the Zonal head of J&K Police visited such a remotest village of the valley.

During the meeting, community members raised several important issues, including the need for the engagement of Special Police Officers (SPOs) from their area and the establishment of a new police post in the vicinity.
