Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of North Kashmir, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, on Tuesday said that police’s firm commitment to fighting terrorism and drug-related crimes in the region. Law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing not just small-time offenders but also the key figures behind these unlawful activities, he said.
“Our battle against terrorism and drug trafficking continues with full intensity. We are not only targeting the perpetrators but also dismantling their financial networks. The properties of drug peddlers, which have been acquired through illegal means, are being seized as part of a broader crackdown,” he stated.
Speaking to media at Dak Bungalow Sumbal, the DIG highlighted that the new laws replace outdated colonial-era statutes, aiming to strengthen the legal framework and expedite justice delivery.
