In a significant move to enhance the professional capacity of its personnel, the Ladakh Police Department recently conducted a specialized training program focused on women’s safety and gender-sensitive policing. This initiative aims to equip investigating officers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and sensitivity required to handle cases related to women’s rights, gender-based violence, and crimes against women in a more effective and empathetic manner.
Participation & Structure of the Training
The training program witnessed the participation of 25 police officers and officials from various police units across Ladakh. These officers, who play a crucial role in investigating and addressing cases of harassment, domestic violence, sexual offenses, and other crimes against women, underwent specialized sessions designed to improve their understanding of legal frameworks, investigation techniques, victim counseling, and gender sensitization.
