A Daily Rated Worker (DRW) at Tripura University, Sukanta Chowdhury, was apprehended by the Amtali Police Station on allegations of collecting money from candidates in exchange for promises of employment in non-teaching positions. The complaint, filed by Sanjit Dey, accuses Chowdhury of demanding ₹2 lakh from each of the victims. Following his arrest, Chowdhury resigned from his position and was presented before the court for further proceedings.
