The Tripura government has launched an investigation into allegations of a ‘cash-for-marks’ scam at Tripura Medical College (TMC). Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that the government is committed to eliminating malpractices in education and will take strict action against any wrongdoing. The scam came to light after three first-year MBBS students alleged they were approached with offers of improved marks in exchange for money during their semester exams. The Crime Branch of Tripura Police is handling the probe, and while no arrests have been made so far, officials and faculty members are being questioned.
