On February 27, 2025, the East Singhbhum district police successfully uncovered and dismantled a fraudulent job racket that had been deceiving countless individuals by falsely promising employment in prestigious government organizations, including the Indian Railways and the Indian Army.

The criminal syndicate behind the scam lured unsuspecting job seekers with the assurance of secure government jobs in exchange for hefty sums of money. Victims, many of whom were desperate for stable employment, were tricked into paying large amounts under the pretense of processing fees, documentation charges, and “special recruitment quotas.”

After receiving multiple complaints, the police launched a detailed investigation, gathering intelligence and tracking down the fraudsters. As a result, multiple arrests were made, and key members of the gang were taken into custody. Authorities also seized fake appointment letters, forged government seals, counterfeit identity cards, and other incriminating documents, which were used to make the scam appear legitimate.

The police have urged job seekers to be cautious and verify employment opportunities directly through official government websites and recruitment agencies. Further investigations are underway to identify potential accomplices and uncover the full extent of the operation.
