The Jammu & Kashmir Police is working on adopting new-age technology in policing. With the modernisation of the police force, the Jammu & Kashmir Police has now started registering FIRs on complaints sent via email and WhatsApp.
Khrew police station in Awantipora police division of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday became the first police station in Jammu and Kashmir to register an ‘electronic FIR’ for the first time after receiving a complaint through email.
Awantipora district police said in a post on X, “Awantipora police has lodged its first e-FIR following a complaint lodged through email.”
