Reshuffling of IPS Officers

The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has ordered the transfer and posting of 157 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across the Union Territory in a significant administrative shake-up.

The move aims to improve the force’s operational efficiency, particularly in counter-insurgency, intelligence, and law enforcement.

As part of the reshuffle, three IPS officers from the 2021 batch have been directed to report to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations in Srinagar for further assignments. Several senior officers handling counter-insurgency and law enforcement duties have been reassigned to key districts.

Among the notable transfers, Basharat Hussain, previously DSP IRP 11 Battalion, has been appointed SDPO Achabal. Nisar Ahmad Khan, formerly DSP CID SB Poonch, will now serve as DSP Headquarters Kulgam. Raies Ahmed Mir, who was DSP SOG Lolab, has been moved to DSP CID SB Baramulla. Owaise Rashid, earlier SDPO Bijbehara, is now DSP Headquarters Ganderbal.

Other transfers include Abdul Maajid Magray, now DSP PCR Kashmir, and Sajad Sarwer, who has been posted as DSP AHJ Jammu. Vaseem Mehmood has been reassigned from SDPO Bhaderwah to SDPO Zainpora, Shopian, while Varun Jandial has moved from DSP Crime PHQ to DSP Provision-II PHQ. Raja Majid Batt, previously SDPO Keller Shopian, is now SDPO Awantipora and Mohammad Yesser Parrey has taken charge as SDPO Kothibag.
