In recent weeks, Bengaluru has experienced a surge in burglary incidents, prompting increased vigilance among residents and law enforcement. A notable case involved a thief stealing an expensive bicycle from a residence in the Indiranagar area. The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the thief entering the home and making off with the bicycle. The footage quickly went viral on social media, highlighting the ease with which the theft occurred and urging locals to be more cautious.

In another incident, Bengaluru police arrested a 32-year-old burglar, Pokathota Gangandhar Rao, for breaking into the flat of a Spanish national on Langford Road. Rao, hailing from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has a history of similar offenses in Bengaluru. He was apprehended during a patrol in Koramangala, where he was found loitering suspiciously. Upon interrogation, Rao confessed to the burglary, and the stolen items, including a laptop, a platinum ring, and debit cards, were recovered.
