Himachal Pradesh, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and adventure tourism, has recently faced significant safety challenges. A notable concern is the rise in paragliding accidents in popular destinations such as Bir-Billing, Dharamshala, and Kullu. Investigations have revealed that untrained and inexperienced pilots, unfamiliar with local geographical and weather conditions, are endangering tourists’ lives.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions in January, marked by poor thermals, paragliding activities have continued, leading to tragic incidents. This situation underscores the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to ensure the safety of adventure sports enthusiasts.
