In a significant breakthrough, the Shimla police have dismantled an inter-state online drug trafficking network, arresting 11 individuals, including the alleged kingpin, Sandeep Shah from Kolkata. The operation, part of the ‘Mission Clean’ campaign, targeted a gang that utilized modern technology to facilitate drug smuggling.
The accused reportedly accepted online bookings for drugs, dispatched parcels, and delivered them to specific geo-locations. The arrested individuals hail from Kolkata, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, with prior drug trafficking cases registered against them in Shimla. A case has been filed under sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sadar Shimla police station.
