Karnataka has earmarked over ₹100 crore to implement a robust cyber security policy aimed at protecting both the state’s critical infrastructure and its citizens from growing cyber threats. The state government has recognized the increasing importance of cyber security in the modern age, especially as more sectors move online. With an uptick in cyber crimes such as hacking, online fraud, and data breaches, the policy is designed to enhance Karnataka’s ability to prevent and respond to such incidents.

The funds will be used to set up advanced cyber security infrastructure, conduct training programs for law enforcement, and improve public awareness of cyber threats. The state government has also announced the creation of a dedicated cyber crime investigation unit within the Karnataka Police. The move is part of a larger effort to safeguard digital transactions and ensure the security of online data, positioning Karnataka as a leader in cyber security in the country.
