On January 16, 2025, Punjab Police conducted extensive cordon and search operations at railway stations statewide to ensure foolproof security ahead of Republic Day. The operation, carried out between 1 pm and 3 pm, resulted in the detention of 173 individuals for questioning.
Approximately 3,299 people were frisked as part of this initiative. The operation highlights the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to safeguard public transportation hubs and ensure a peaceful Republic Day.
