Eight RPS Officers Elevated to IPS Rank

In a significant development, the Ministry of Home Affairs promoted eight Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officers to the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS) on January 1, 2025. The officers, including Kelaram Rao, Lokesh Sonwal, Govardhan Sankariya, and others, belong to the 1997 and 1998 batches. This promotion marks a milestone in their careers, recognizing their exemplary service and dedication to law enforcement.

The newly promoted officers will undergo a one-year probationary training period before assuming their new roles. The decision was finalized following a high-level meeting involving the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, and the Director General of Police. These promotions are expected to strengthen the leadership within the Rajasthan Police, paving the way for enhanced administrative and operational efficiency.
