In a bid to address the growing concerns about the safety and well-being of elderly residents, DNH&DD Police have launched a comprehensive ‘Senior Citizen Safety Program.’
This initiative is designed to provide seniors with the tools and resources they need to stay safe in their homes and communities.
The program includes providing safety tips on avoiding scams, setting up emergency contact systems, and ensuring that older individuals have easy access to law enforcement in case of emergencies.
As part of the program, police officers will conduct regular visits to senior citizens’ homes, offering personalized advice on security measures, such as installing surveillance cameras and securing doors and windows.
Additionally, the police have set up a dedicated hotline where seniors can report any safety concerns or request assistance.
This initiative is seen as a significant step towards ensuring that elderly residents in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are not left vulnerable to crime or abuse.
