A heartwarming incident during a recent police constable recruitment drive in Chittoor district has captured the hearts of the public. Sri Sathya Sai district Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Ratna displayed an act of remarkable compassion when a young woman aspirant, Shakeela from Vayalpadu in Annamayya district, suffered an injury during the 1600m run.
Shakeela fell and sustained a fracture, forcing her to withdraw from the trials. Instead of simply dismissing the incident, SP Ratna immediately intervened. She ensured Shakeela was swiftly transported to the district hospital in Chittoor for immediate medical attention. Recognizing the need for specialized care, the SP personally coordinated her transfer to the Madanapalle hospital for further treatment.
Beyond providing medical assistance, SP Ratna also took the time to communicate with Shakeela’s family, offering them comfort and reassurance during this difficult time. This act of kindness, going beyond the call of duty, has garnered widespread praise from the public and fellow police officers.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder that law enforcement is not just about enforcing the law, but also about serving the community with compassion and empathy. SP Ratna’s actions have undoubtedly strengthened public trust in the police force and showcased the human side of law enforcement.
