Family members of constables from the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) gathered for a protest in Mamnoor, urging the state government to implement the ‘Ek Police’ system in Telangana. This system, already successfully in place in Tamil Nadu, recruits police officers on special assignments for a specific period before integrating them into law and order duties, offering a more uniform policing career path. The aim of the protest was to eliminate discrepancies in police duties across departments and ensure equal working opportunities for all constables.

Protesters highlighted how the current structure leads to challenges for constables, including inconsistent assignments and limited career growth. They argued that the ‘Ek Police’ system would streamline operations and promote fair treatment for officers across different regions. The protest drew attention to the need for modernization in the police recruitment and deployment processes to align with contemporary law enforcement practices.
