In response to mounting challenges caused by a manpower shortage, Kerala Police have proposed the creation of 15,075 new posts in the law and order wing. This initiative, submitted to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), seeks to increase the total personnel from the current 21,842 to 36,917. The law and order wing handles the day-to-day activities of police stations and plays a critical role in maintaining public safety.

If approved, this proposal could significantly reduce the workload on existing officers, enhance operational efficiency, and improve public trust in law enforcement. By prioritizing this expansion, the Kerala government demonstrates its commitment to addressing the root causes of inefficiencies within the police force, ultimately ensuring better service to its citizens.
