Chandigarh Police on High Alert Following BKI Threats

In light of intelligence reports suggesting potential threats from Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), Chandigarh police have ramped up security measures across the city. According to the reports, Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Pashia, a BKI operative, is planning to target police stations with bomb attacks during nighttime hours in the lead-up to Republic Day. This alarming revelation has prompted authorities to establish additional checkpoints near police facilities and enhance vigilance at vulnerable locations.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of ₹5 lakh for information leading to the capture of Pashia. Police stations across Chandigarh have been directed to maintain heightened alertness, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring of suspicious activities. The measures underscore the importance of preemptive actions to safeguard the city during this sensitive period.
