To address the rise in accidents during festivals, the police launched a special traffic awareness campaign on January 16th, coinciding with Makar Sankranti celebrations. The campaign focused on educating the public about responsible driving practices, the dangers of drunk driving, and the importance of following traffic rules.
The police also conducted surprise roadblocks on major highways to check for speeding, driving under the influence, and other traffic violations. These efforts aim to reduce road accidents and create a safer transportation environment in Odisha.
