In a joint operation with the Odisha Forest Department, the Odisha Police have launched a major crackdown on illegal poaching activities in the state’s protected wildlife sanctuaries. The operation targets organized poaching syndicates that have been involved in the illegal hunting and trading of endangered species, such as tigers, elephants, and rhinoceros.
The police and forest officials have intensified surveillance, set up check posts along key routes, and conducted raids on suspected poaching camps. This combined effort is expected to curb wildlife crimes and protect Odisha’s rich biodiversity. Authorities have also urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help safeguard the environment.
