Cybercrime in Mizoram, like in many other remote and under-developed regions, is on the rise due to the increasing use of smartphones and internet access. The police face significant challenges in tackling online crimes such as fraud, identity theft, and cyberbullying. With limited infrastructure, rural areas are especially vulnerable to online exploitation and scams.

To address these challenges, the Mizoram Police have been working to modernize their approach by increasing awareness about cybercrime, training officers in cyber law enforcement, and setting up a dedicated cybercrime unit. However, due to the region’s limited resources and technology gaps, the police continue to face difficulties in combating sophisticated cybercriminals. Despite these obstacles, efforts to educate the public and enforce cyber laws are ongoing.
