Indian Coast Guard Rescues 54 Passengers in Lakshadweep

On January 14, 2025, a dramatic rescue operation was successfully carried out by the Indian Coast Guard. The operation was initiated after a boat carrying 54 passengers, including 22 women, 9 men, 3 infants, and 20 children, suffered engine failure and became stranded mid-ocean near Suhelipar Island. The Coast Guard responded swiftly, deploying rescue teams to ensure the safety of the passengers.

After a coordinated rescue effort, the stranded passengers were safely brought aboard Coast Guard vessels. They were then transported to Kavaratti Island, where they were handed over to the Lakshadweep Administration authorities.
