In a highly successful and record-breaking operation, West Bengal Police recently seized 49 illegal firearms across the state, marking a significant blow to illegal arms smuggling and violence. This crackdown, initiated by the Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar, was a response to growing concerns over escalating lawlessness and the illegal movement of weapons across borders.
The statewide operation also led to the confiscation of 20 rounds of ammunition and the arrest of 43 individuals linked to illegal arms activities. This move is part of a larger effort to curb violence and ensure public safety. Moreover, the police seized 31 kilograms of ganja, 9 kilograms of poppy, and 42.64 grams of brown sugar during the operation, highlighting their proactive stance on tackling narcotics-related offenses. With a combination of strict enforcement and coordinated local raids, West Bengal Police aim to reduce criminal activity and increase community safety.
This operation marks a decisive step toward ensuring the state’s security and restoring public confidence in law enforcement efforts.
