On January 13, 2025, a significant fire erupted in a high-rise building along National Highway 10 in Gangtok, Sikkim. The blaze led to the explosion of five gas cylinders, causing panic among residents. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The Sikkim Police, along with fire department personnel, responded promptly, deploying eight fire tenders to control the inferno over four hours. The incident resulted in the temporary closure of NH 10 to ensure public safety.
